7DLR Started

Source: rec.games.roguelike.announce Google Group

Me and my friends have started working on an unnamed 7rdl. The team
consists of 4 persons. We have coded some code in the past which could
be considered as a kind of game engine. We still haven't decided a
name for the project.

Bidden 7DRL

Source: Kooneiform » roguelike

It’s the inaugural post for my 2010 7DRL. My first 7DRL attempt, and my first attempt at a complete roguelike. Here we go!

In typical fashion, I’ve just created the home site for Bidden before there is an actual game!

7RDL – Day 1

Source: Numeron Reactor

I got the menu system sorted, and a lot of structure and backend stuff for the world but as far as thats concerned there isnt much to show for it front end :( I had to play around with the tiles a lot today and lost a lot of time there too. Tomorrow I should have a lot more to show for my work and have the usual walking around and stuff done... I know that sounds like Im behind, but I dont think so, I have got plenty done, and now that Im up to a good speed and that back end data structures are done I should be able to add stuff like that in very easily...

This year's 7DRL has just started. What is a 7DRL?

A Seven Day Roguelike is a roguelike created in seven days. This means the author stopped writing code one hundred and sixty eight hours after they started writing code.
Already there are quite a few entries. Good luck to all the developers taking part, and I hope to review some of the entries when they are done.

Unexplained absence

Source: Ascii Dreams

One of the things about heading off to visit friends in Martinique for two weeks for a long postponed holiday is that you can't just let your closest friends on the Internet know anymore. So I'd like to apologise for the unexplained absence and promise to renew a more regular service.
